		<description>The showing of Odd Girl Out was successful. Students were mature in their conduct and shared their observations, connections and feelings after the movie was done. Many were able to empathize with the main character, Vanessa, as she struggled to fit in and how she felt while being taunted and belittled and, unfortunately how easy it is to stand by and allow it to happen. 

This has been a great opportunity to begin the conversation in 6th grade about bullying and what role WE ALL can play in making a positive change. We, the teachers, hope that students will take advantage of the opportunity tonight to discuss their reactions and feelings about this movie with their parents.</description>

		<description>The movie Odd Girl Out is one that is very powerful and I think many students were able to get to the heart of the message this morning.  When it finished, we had a processing time to talk with students as a group, many coming to the front to share their comments in the microphone.  One student summed up the experience very well when he said, &quot;This movie is good because it lets bullies know how how much they are hurting people.&quot;  Another brought a tear to my eye as he told his peer that there is bullying that goes on in the 6th grade at ASFM and that they are the only ones who can stop it from happening.  Hopefully after this experience, more and more students will stand up for their peers that are being bullied and help to stop these behaviors that are so hidden from us teachers.  It was a great morning!

		<description>Switching movies turned out to be a great plan and I feel it went really well.  The movie provided a great message and the talk we had after it was finished was fantastic!  I really enjoyed how students showed some real confidence by going in front of their peers and talking about bullying.  Great job!</description>

		<description>I agree that it is imperative to have aligned assessments in addition to  well planned lessons, but certainly the key to success in student learning is having instruction which engages students in the classroom. The lessons which tap into a variety of learning styles in addition to providing students with the opportunity to explore their own areas of interest (while having a common assessment topic) are sure to be the most engaging/interesting for students... all the while getting the best quality finished products for teachers, from students.</description>
